Home Assistant Operations Specialist
Project overview
We operate a Home Assistant-based smart home and farm automation system in Cyprus (Mavronero project).
The system includes:

Home Assistant with PostgreSQL backend

Camera integrations (Blink + potential RTSP)

Irrigation automation
-
Environmental sensors
-
MQTT devices
-
Energy monitoring
-
WordPress data exposure (handled by architect)
We are looking for an operational specialist to maintain and implement tasks within an already defined architecture.
This is a long-term support role.
Role overview
You will:

Implement automations based on defined structure
-
Maintain and troubleshoot integrations
-
Support device onboarding
-
Assist with camera setups
-
Adjust dashboards
-
Monitor system health
-
Support performance cleanup tasks
-
Handle updates carefully
-
Assist in minor WordPress data integrations if required
You will collaborate with a system architect (if appointed).

Daily / Weekly tasks

Fix broken automations

Adjust triggers & conditions

Add new devices (Zigbee, ESPHome, Tuya)

Improve notifications

Help refine camera alerts

Optimize entity organization

Assist in recorder retention maintenance

Clean up logs
Cameras (part of scope)

Blink troubleshooting

Basic RTSP/ONVIF setup

Motion trigger tuning

Snapshot notification logic

Retention monitoring
Required experience
-
1–3 years Home Assistant experience

Basic YAML knowledge

Familiarity with MQTT

Some PostgreSQL exposure

Basic Linux understanding

Experience integrating cameras

Structured and careful working style

ESPHome familiarity
