During a recent walk around Mavronero Farm, we observed this elegant species in full bloom, adding soft yellow tones to the landscape while providing valuable resources for pollinating insects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A native wildflower adapted to Mediterranean landscapes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wild mignonette naturally grows across much of southern Europe, North Africa and western Asia. It is commonly found in grasslands, open fields, roadsides and disturbed ground, where it thrives in full sun and well-drained soils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its remarkable tolerance to drought and poor, rocky soils makes it perfectly adapted to Cyprus&#8217; Mediterranean climate. Even during periods of limited rainfall, the plant continues flowering, demonstrating the resilience of native flora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A valuable resource for pollinators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although its flowers are small, wild mignonette produces abundant nectar and pollen that attract a wide variety of beneficial insects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bees, hoverflies, butterflies and other pollinators regularly visit its long flower spikes throughout the flowering season.
