A Volunteer’s story, and the door it opened
This season at Mavronero was meant to be a quiet one. Just the land, the olives, and the slow rhythm that guides our days.
Then the phone rang. A gentle voice asked a simple question:
“Could I come and help on your farm?”
That was Pawel.
He arrived a few days later — curious, open, and ready to lend a hand.
We shared lunch, walked the land together, and talked about the work we do here: planting wild seedlings, caring for the trees, observing the small changes that make up the life of the farm.
During his time with us, Pawel helped wherever help was needed. But more than the practical tasks, what stayed with us was his attitude: present, respectful, attentive to the land.
His visit reminded us that Mavronero can be a place for people who want to learn, reconnect with nature, or simply contribute to something meaningful — even if only for a few days.

Welcoming Volunteers at Mavronero
Pawel’s message opened a door.
It showed us that there are people who want to be part of this landscape and its quiet work.
So we decided to welcome more volunteers — whether for a few hours, a weekend, or whenever time allows.
Volunteers can support us with:
- planting and caring for young trees
- seasonal tasks on the land
- maintaining paths and fences
- small biodiversity and research-related activities
No experience is needed — only respect for the land and a willingness to work outdoors.
If you feel connected to this kind of place and would like to join us, you’re welcome to reach out.
Tell us a little about yourself, and let’s see if it’s a good fit.
Sometimes a simple question is enough to open a new chapter — just like Pawel’s.
